THE BIRTH OF A PROFESSION
Since 2005, I have been passionate about creating and manufacturing handcrafted jewelry. It was my numerous trips to South America that allowed me to experiment and learn several jewelry making techniques and awaken in me a passion that would later become my profession.
Back in Montreal after these trips, I enrolled in the jewelry crafts program at the Montreal Jewelry School. It was at this time that my love for warm countries inspired the inspiration for my first graduate collection in 2010. My travels between Mexico and Argentina, during my school career, opened my outlook on life. There I discovered an artistic approach that would accompany me for years to come. The creation of my jewelry is always inspired by the timeless and natural beauties that I have encountered during my travels, which allows me to maintain this close link with them and to pay homage to them. From now on, my job would combine artisanal know-how and my love for exotic escapades.
A UNIQUE SIGNATURE
I create as I travel with the same passion, and this raw energy is found in my pieces. I am in contact with everything around me and I then transmit it in my textures, shapes and colors. The heart of my work lies in the exploration and evolution of shapes and contrasts. It is by manipulating, forging and twisting the metal that the very essence of my jewelry is born.
Whether it is creating a necklace, a ring or an earring, I carry out the same crucial manufacturing steps. I always start with the prototype of the part, which will be tested for comfort and strength. When this important step is approved, the melting of the silver grains can begin, which I transform into plate and wire. I use two very specific techniques to create my jewelry: forging to give shape, volume and curves, then melting silver dust for texture. These different techniques are the very basis of my jewelry which will take on various finishes and colors.
I like to play with textures and contrasts. I am inspired by nature, and I design voluminous, contemporary and organic pieces. I mainly work with silver which I like to combine with gold, turquoise and blue. It is mainly these elements that set me apart and make my signature. Each piece I create by hand is unique, comfortable and durable and reveals a feminine and delicate strength.
