THE BIRTH OF A TRADE
Since 2005, I have been passionate about the creation and manufacture of handcrafted jewelry. It was my many trips to South America that allowed me to experiment and learn several jewelry making techniques and awaken in me a passion that would later become my profession.
Back in Montreal after these trips, I enrolled in the jewelry crafts program at École de joaillerie de Montréal . It was around this time that my love for hot countries sparked the inspiration for my first graduate collection in 2010. My travels between Mexico and Argentina during my school career opened my eyes to life. I discovered an artistic process there that would accompany me for years to come. The creation of my jewelry is always inspired by the timeless and natural beauties that I have encountered on my travels, which allows me to keep this close bond with them and to pay homage to them. From now on, my job would combine artisanal know-how and my love for exotic getaways.
A SINGLE SIGNATURE
I create as I travel with the same passion, and this raw energy is found in my pieces. I am in contact with everything around me and then convey it in my textures, shapes and colors. The heart of my work lies in the exploration and evolution of forms, contrasts. It is by manipulating, forging and twisting metal that the very essence of my jewelry is born.
Whether it's creating a necklace, a ring or an earring, I go through the same crucial manufacturing steps. I always start with the prototype of the piece, which will be tested for comfort and strength. When this important step is approved can then begin the melting of the silver grains which I transform into plate and wire. I use two very specific techniques to create my jewelry: forging to give shape, volume and curves and then the fusion of silver dust for texture. These different techniques are the very basis of my jewelry which will take various finishes and colors.
I like to play with textures and contrasts. I am inspired by nature, and I design voluminous, contemporary and organic pieces. I mainly work with silver which I like to pair with gold, turquoise and blue. It is mainly these elements that distinguish me and make my signature. Each piece that I create by hand is unique, comfortable and durable and reveals a feminine and delicate force.
